The Makery

I’m Hannah Krantz, and I am the Makery’s Outreach and Charitable Works Intern. I lead the second round of shield making and donations.

After a little less than one month, our volunteers have achieved the incredible feat of assembling over 32,000 shields!

We can feel the energy in the room from all the crossfit members jumping, running, lifting and more!

Another record-setting day under our collective belt, all thanks to our impressive volunteers!

Our collaborations are producing real-world results! This week we produced and delivered 1500 masks!

We are ramping up production with a larger production team and a large delivery of parts. We hope to assemble and deliver 1,000 shields.

We spent the past few days getting the BTC makerspace sanitized and set up for production.

Our plan for the next couple of days is to ramp up quickly and get ready for production.

We have had several productive meetings with our collective of Boston area makerspaces and with the Mass General Brigham COVID Center.

The Makery participated in a highly informative meeting with a new initiative called the Mass General Brigham Center for COVID Innovation.

We engaged in a discussion with a group of makers, medical professionals, scientists, and engineers in the Greater Boston Area.

We have begun production of the plastic pieces for the top and bottom of the shield.

We have successfully printed a Venturi valve for a ventilator on the Markforged.

The Makery Team is working to determine how best we can contribute.
